Courtyard By Marriott Buffalo/Canalside
The new Courtyard By Marriott Buffalo/Canalside is pretty much in our backyard (about 15 min from home) but we decided to give it a try after a Buffalo Sabres game. The hotel is a very short 2 or 3 minute walk from the First Niagara Center where the Sabres play hockey. We stayed one night, on the 2nd floor (room 217) in a room that overlooks Canalside, and the location of the old Memorial Auditorium. There is also a Metro stop right out the window as well. The hotel is nice and new but not overly luxurious. It has a very modern feel but doesn't make you feel like you are afraid to touch anything.
The room was a typical size hotel room with a small fridge and microwave. The bathroom was normal size as well but the shower was larger than a typical tub shower. The bathroom sink faucet was hard to use. You either get very hot or very cold water. Very hard to get just warm water. The room was very clean except we did seem to find lots of hair around the room. The hotel is VERY conveniently located near the arena and an entrance to the 190. They have a Bistro downstairs that has basic food and drinks. They do not offer a free breakfast buffet like some hotels but this is common at hotels in downtown locations. We would definitely stay there again. Overall, we would give it 4 out of 5 stars.
