Big Sky Movie Ranch, in Simi Valley, California, was the filming location for most of the Little House on the Prairie TV series.
We contacted them to see if it was possible to get a quick tour since we were going to be nearby on a road trip from NY to California and back. The guy in charge told me to call him a day or two before we arrived to get permission and to make sure the site was available for viewing. We were only able to see the Wildflower Hill and the site where the little house sat. The town site from the show is also located at the Big Sky Movie Ranch but it was unavailable for visitors that day. It was surreal to be standing on the roads where Michael Landon once stood. The tour was a once in a lifetime opportunity!
